We've got a story to tell.

June 23rd marks International Women in Engineering Day, and to celebrate this day we’ve put together an illustrated children's eBook highlighting stories of 5 inspirational female engineers.

This eBook is designed to be read with young girls to inspire them to take up a career in engineering, a field which continues to be dominated by men. A recent poll found that only 12% of engineers are female, and we’re on a mission to tackle this problem at the source.

Role models play an important part in the career choices children make, so by reading this story with a girl that you know, you could help tackle gender disparity by encouraging young girls into the industry from a younger age.

Help play your part and challenge the status quo of the engineering world.

Dawn Buck

Dawn is a Construction Supervisor at United Utilities, a large water and wastewater utility in North West England. Dawn is taking part as she regrets other people telling her what careers she could and could not do when she was younger and allowing other people to deter her from her dreams. By inspiring the next generation of female engineers, she aims to show that any girl in the world can be an engineer if they put their mind to it.
